Jonathan Rowan competes in Topless 100 weekend at Batesville
Jonathan Rowan made his first start of the 2023 season on Friday afternoon at Batesville Motor Speedway (Batesville, Ark.) aboard his Vic Hill Race Engines No. 56 Late Model for the 41st running of the Comp Cams Topless 100 weekend.
With a stout field of 64 cars amassed for the two-day event co-sanctioned by the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) and the Comp Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS), Rowan shuffled a few spots in his heat to finish eighth, relegating him into a consolation race. Sending the top-two into Friday’s $5,000-to-win preliminary feature, Jonathan fell short of a transfer position.
Pinned on the seventh row of his B-Main on Saturday for one last shot into the $50,000-to-win Comp Cams Topless 100 finale, Jonathan moved forward in the 15-lapper but failed to qualify with an 11th-place outing.
