October 8, 2016 - Jonathan Rowan Clinches CCSDS Rookie of the Year Title
1 Behind the wheel of the O.H. Hendricks #56 Super Late Model, Jonathan Rowan made the trip to Lucas Oil Speedway (Wheatland, Missouri) on Friday for the event sanctioned by both the COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) and the Lucas Oil Midwest Late Model Racing Association (MLRA). Drawing a stout field of 53 cars for the two-day Fall Nationals, Rowan fell one position short of a transfer spot in his heat with a 3rd place outing. Sending the Top 2 into the opening night $3,000-to-win A-Main, Jonathan fell back to a 10th place outing.

Returning on Saturday for a shot at the $5,000 payday, Rowan placed 6th in his heat giving him one last chance at the feature with a B-Main appearance. Needing a 2nd place finish or better to make the show, Jonathan fell back to a 7th place finish.

1Edging 2nd place finisher Austin Theiss, Jonathan Rowan captured the Kuntz & Co. Rookie of the Year award with the CCSDS.

“It was a really tight battle with Austin [Theiss] and I for the rookie title the whole year, and it feels amazing to officially claim it,” noted Rowan. “We had so much fun on the road with the series in 2016, and I learned so much along the way. We are really looking forward to next year.”
